questions on the more important, real issues!!! Great work Tiffiny!!!
My Interview With Cain: No One is Infallible
Sunday I had the opportunity to visit with Herman Cain and ask him questions by members of the TeaParty.net. The next day all hell broke loose and I have a theory about that.
It is ironic that 13 years ago, before a supposed affair began between Presidential candidate Herman Cain and Ginger White, a lesson could have been learned but wasn’t. In 1998 (13 years ago), on August 17th, many of us sat in front of our TV sets watching the President of the United States give a humble and sincere apology to the American people over the Lewinsky scandal. It was a torrid affair which would seemingly end a President’s reputation. There was something different about our nations attitude of acceptance toward the idea that public officials had separate and personal lives that should be respected. I remember President Clinton telling us about privacy:
“Nothing is more important to me personally. But it is private… It’s nobody’s business but ours. Even presidents have private lives. It is time to stop the pursuit of personal destruction and the prying into private lives and get on with our national life.”
LESSON: IT IS TIME TO STOP THE PURSUIT OF PERSONAL DESTRUCTION. Once the 999 plan gained steam and discussion turned to relieving the tax burden from the people, Cain began being pummeled with accusations aimed at destroying him personally. 13 or so years ago liberals from everywhere stood up for Clinton saying his personal life should be left alone. Clinton ended his apology by saying:
“Now it is time to move on. We have important work to do, real opportunities to seize, real problems to solve, real security matters to face. I ask you to turn away from the spectacle of the past months, repair the fabric of our national discourse and to return our attention to all the challenges and all the promise of the next American Century”- President Clinton August 17th, 1998
Ask yourself the question: What is important to you in the next election? Is lifting the tax burden important to you? Is finding our very best candidate to beat Obama important to you? Is what a man does behind closed doors important to you? I am a principled chaste woman so it is even difficult for me to answer this question without turning redfaced, but when the passion of anger resides, I realize LESSON: WE MUST TURN AWAY FROM THE SPECTACLE & RETURN OUR ATTENTION TO THE CHALLENGES OF THE NEXT ELECTION. I consider the two most important tenets of the Tea Party : Lower Taxes and Smaller Government. I push aside personal feelings and consider what will help We The People achieve our goal, for our children and our grandchildren.
I don’t know if Mr. Cain began an affair 13 years ago. But I do know that nearly a year ago this man stepped on the scene with no political experience and now he’s able to debate and compete in a tough field. I had the opportunity of interviewing Mr. Cain Sunday. It was interesting because he talked about his 999 Plan and told me they were releasing a movie on the Plan. The big launch barely graced the scenes yesterday as Mr. Cains private life was flashed across our television sets… to be honest I was pretty distracted too. Let us all promise as true conservatives as Patriots who love this country that WE WILL TURN AWAY FROM THE SPECTACLE AND NOT BE DISTRACTED BY OUR ENEMIES AND BE TAKEN OFF COURSE TO SAVE OUR COUNTRY AND IT’S CONSTITUTION. I guarantee the media achieved their goal by once again taking us off topic once again. I want to share with you what Mr. Cain told with me in that interview, you will see what I saw. A man who cares deeply about this country, who may not have all the answers but is constantly searching for them until he does find them and a man who admittedly is not infallible, just as none of us (but Mitt Romneys infallible hair) are not infallible.
Our job is to continue vetting our candidates until the Primary. Here are some excerpts from the interview Sunday with Herman Cain. (Click here for full transcript). I did talk to Mark Block, Campaign manager for Herman Cain on Monday night to make an addendum to this interview. He responded that Mr. Cain was at an event in Virginia and hadn’t yet been briefed for my questions. I still await the reply from Cain Campaign.
TheRightMixx: Just so that you know the questions that I’m going to ask you today they have actually been sent to me through email, Facebook and over the phone from Tea Party leaders and volunteers from across the nation, OK?
HermanCain: OK.

TRM: And I am going to give you the first question from my son, he asks and these are his own words “instead of buying oil from other countries don’t you think we should drill in America? I mean we have plenty here so what is your view on drilling the United States?”
HC: Energy independence is what I’ve talked a lot about. We have the ability to do it and in order to be able to do it we have to remove the barriers that are in the way and that means the over burdensome regulatory barriers of the EPA and the Department of Energy. I believe in responsible regulations but the regulations have gone too far and has shut down our ability to develop our own energy independence so that would be one of the first things that I would want to do.
TRM: You’ve mentioned that you think you can do better than the average GOP nominee in pulling in black voters. Ray from Ohio, he says that usually the Democrats gather about 90-percent of the black votes. So my question is will you tell us how you are going to accomplish pulling in more black voters and what are you going to do specifically to draw them in, in 2012?
HC: The thing is attracting a lot of black voters to my campaign and to me as a candidate is simply the strength of my proposals and my ideas. Everybody knows that this economy is on life support. And whether you are black, brown, Hispanic, white people are saying you know that 999 plan has a lot of merit. Why? Most people’s taxes are going to go down. Businesses are going to be excited to start growing again. In addition to my ideas, within 999 we have something called opportunity zone. Opportunity zones are additional incentives in 999 for cities that have been economically blighted like Detroit, to give them a much better chance of being able to get their own city back up economically.
TRM: Along with many other leaders Ryan Rhodes of Iowa, he had questions on Agenda 21, sustainable development. He would like to know just how you plan to handle the UN and its dictatorial agendas such as Agenda 21 since it’s something that’s promulgated by the UN?
HC: First I don’t agree with Agenda 21. Secondly, anything that comes out of the United Nations that compromises our sovereignty I’m against it. Thirdly, I plan to bring about an attitude adjustment within the United Nations in terms of them trying to impose their world view on the United States; not on my watch, that’s just simply not going to happen.
TRM: Nina is a refugee from Cuba currently residing in California and she would like to know your views on stopping the funding to the UN and then Rick of Marylandwould like to know if you will preserve U.S. sovereignty by pulling completely out of the UN?
HC: Stopping the funding is a possibility but I can’t say all of it because there are some programs that we fund that are discretionary. Those programs are helping. And they’re helping other countries and they’re helping people. The non-discretionary portion is going to be under review. So here again until I do an analysis and an evaluation of the funding and how it’s being used and what it’s being used for I can’t say. But it would definitely come under review. And the answer to the other one I think you’re right I had already answered that one and that is anything that compromises the sovereignty of the United States I will definitely be against.
TRM: OK, and then if you could repeal one to two constitutional amendments, what would they be and why?

HC: Constitutional amendments, the one that I would repeal would be the 16th amendment because that’s the one that gives Congress the right to levy taxes on our income. I would repeal the 16th amendment as I replace the revenue vehicle for this country with a complete national consumption tax. That would be the one that I would repeal.
TRM: And is that something that would be required to help your 999 plan work successfully?
