Obama's "Toxic" Jobs Bill Dead On Arrival...

if it Ever Gets to the House of Representatives!

The weekly initial jobless claims report came out today with 428,000 people filing for first time unemployment benefits, which was significantly higher than the 412,000 economists had expected; and, the 414,000 figure from last week was adjusted up to 417,000, according to Reuters

More important however, as a Bloomberg chart helps to illustrate, is the fact that the 4-week moving average figure rose from 415,500 to 419,500, a distinct upward trend, which began when President Obama began touting his highly-hyped jobs plan.  The rich irony is that this is very likely signaling an increase in the unemployment rate.

Obama's Jobs plan results in an increase in the unemployment rate?  How?

Because this "new" Obama Jobs Plan, as we warned in a prior article, is simply a "half-pint" version of the failed "Grand Stimulus" plan passed in 2009 without a single Republican vote, that is loaded with a liberal litany of new taxes, which are  anathema to most Americans, especially during a recession.

And, nothing new here, bailouts for blue states which are cash-strapped because of their own social program and illegal immigrant largesse, to hire more teachers, fire fighters and police (all of which are the responsiblity of the states and municipalities), and more money for non-existent "shovel-ready" infrastructure [union] construction jobs.

The contents of Obama's jobs plan pander directly to the heart of his voting base, blue states and the "fading" public sector unions, rendering it, as we reported in a recent article, a thinly-veiled shameless attempt to once again "camouflage" the use of federal tax dollars to fund his struggling re-election campaign.

However, even with President Obama traveling around on Air Force One, making speeches to students and touring small companies, today imploring "if you love me, then pass this bill!", it is not going anywhere, fast.

At last report around noon today, "The American Jobs Act", still has not been picked up by any Democrat in the House to be sponsored and filed (mandatory before it can become a "bill" to be voted on--"pass this bill!").

Why?

Because it has become "toxic" to their political careers.

It is probably bringing back terrible memories of November 2010 for Democrats, many of whom face re-election in November 2012--reminding them of what happened to the politial careers of those poor souls who voted for the prior [jobless] Obama Stimulus Package and the now [unwanted by 67% of Americans] Obamacare--it caused the political landscape across America to change significantly to the favor of Republicans overnight.  And no one would want to become its next victim.

And, the fresh wound from the stunning loss of New York U.S. House District 9 seat held by Democrats since 1923.  The election of political newcomer Bob Turner (R-NY), is a clear rebuke to Democrats in general and President Obama in particular.  But, DNC Chairwomen Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), tried to come to the rescue, quoted earlier today as saying "[NY9] has always been a tough district for Democrats [to win]."

Really ... with overwhelming wins for Democrats for the last 89 years?

President Obama and Democrats are also facing rapidly eroding credibility of being able to create jobs that last for more the 6 months to a year, and their ability to appreciate some of the few remaing manufacturing companies in the U.S., as evidenced by the brewing scandal at Solyndra [Solar] and the National Labor Relations Board (NLR action against Boeing.

Solyndra, Inc., a California solar panel manufacturing company with 1,100 employees, was President Obama's "poster child" as the creator of new, hight tech, sustainable energy manufacturing jobs in America.  Vice President Joe Biden even toured the plant and gave a rousing excalamtory speech in September 2009, right after the Federal Financing Bank approved a $528 million loan guarantee, to finance its growth.

However, just last month, the company furloughed all of its employees and filed for bankruptcy, causing a "firestorm" of controversy among Republicans.  According to a FOXNews report, Jeffrey Zients, deputy director of the White House budget office, acknowledged that Solyndra's bankruptcy will "limit the government's recovery of funds." He called the outcome "very unfortunate."

The U.S. Treasury Department has now joined the growing list of government agencies that are conducting civil and criminal investigations into the company failure, including the FBI, which "raided" the company headquarters, the Energy Department, which monitored the "asset", and the House Energy and Commerce committee; understandably, the White House Office of Management and Budget (OM is also on the "hot seat".

Then there is the case Boeing Aircraft company, who is completing a brand new factory in South Carolina (a right to work state), to manufacter its new 787 Dreamliner, which will bring 1,000 new, desperately needed, good jobs to the state.

Lafe Solomon-General Counsel for the U.S. National Labor Relations Board (NLR, is bringing a lawsuit against Boeing, claiming they are in violation of union agreements in Washington state, which the NLRB views as Boeing as acting in retaliation against the unions.

According a report yesterday, by Mike Emanuel of FOXNews, quoted South Carolina Senator Lindsay Graham (R) as being "mad as hell", just a day ahead of a House vote to block the NLRB action against Boeing.

"This is a frivolous complaint beyond imagination,” Graham said. “This is using the law for political purposes, and I really do resent that the idea that we are not going to fight back. Sen. Reid, help us out here."

"Businesses are smarter than government,” said South Carolina Republican Sen. Jim DeMint. “The next time Boeing has a move, they won't move to South Carolina or a right-to-work state. They'll move to china or somewhere else… that's the signal this administration is sending."

As always, actions speak louder than words, and these imcompetent and dirty deeds being committed by the Obama Administration, argue directly against their appreciation for job creators, no matter what the president is saying on the stump during his rally around America.

So, who could blame the Republican-controlled House of Representatives for not wanting to give President Obama another "half-trillion" dollars for a "do-over".

You don't double-down on a loser.

So, to borrow a famous phrase from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), The American Jobs Bill will be "dead on arrival" ... that is once Democrats can find a congressman brave enough to "touch" it.
