Thanks to North County Conservatives

Hello Patriots,

We will try to keep this e-mail short and to the point, but there are some important items for your consideration and action:

WHO IS IMPLEMENTING AB 32 (CALIFORNIA'S VERSION OF "CAP AND TRADE... err TAX") AND FORCING JOBS OUT OF CALIFORNIA?  Go to our website's "California

Happenings" page (http://northcountyconservatives.org/17.html) for a complete list of names and contact information.  You may also want to ask the Governor Schwarzenegger why he continues to allow jobs to hemorrhage from California.  Call him at (916) 4... or send a fax to (916) 558-3160 (use our FREE fax links at http://northcountyconservatives.org/11.html).

SENATE FINANCE COMMITTEE VOTES AGAINST GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN

The 15 to 8 vote, which followed several hours of debate, was a defeat for liberal Democrats who view government-sponsored insurance for the middle class as a key component of President Obama's health care overhaul. "A win for the good guys," BUT... we need to stop a government takeover of health care, PERIOD. How do we do this?

If you have been following the Senate Finance Committee meeting on the amendments to the Health Care Bill, you know that every single Republican amendment is defeated with a unanimous vote by the Democrats while every Democrat amendment is passed with a unanimous vote by the Democrats. This is a waste of time and money and America will suffer. However, there IS a way to stop this dead in its tracks.

Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure for the Senate Finance Committee reads: "Rule 4. Quorums. - (a) Except as provided in subsection (b) one-third of the membership of the committee, including not less than one member of the majority party and one member of the minority party, shall constitute a quorum for the conduct of business."

Let it be known that conservative citizens all across the United States demand that the Republican Senators in the Senate Finance Committee stop negotiating and Walk Out Now for America. We will support this effort and will support the Republican members of the Committee.

Contact the GOP members listed below with a phone call and e-mail. Quote the rule while on the phone and copy the rule in your e-mails. This must be done quickly. This action was presented by local coordinators on a state conference call and was unanimously approved by all members on the call. National groups were contacted last night and will be contacted today (29 September) to set this action in motion.

WHOLE FOODS "BUYCOTT"

To counteract the boycott of Whole Foods initiated by the left following a Wall Street Journal article written by Whole Foods co-founder and CEO John Mackey (see http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204251404574342170072865070.html), NCC is supporting a "buycott" at the La Jolla Whole Foods Market at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10th. The store is located at 8825 Villa La Jolla Drive (Phone 858-642-6700). For store information, you can go to their website at http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/lajolla/Mr. Mackey's article laid out perhaps the most articulate argument FOR real health care reform.. and by inference, it also made the argument AGAINST the government-run plan being pushed by the administration and Congress.

NEXT TEA PARTY TO BE HELD AT SAN DIEGO'S EMBARCADERO

We will be joining San Diego's Southern California Tax Revolt Coalition on Saturday, October 17th, for their Eco-Tyranny TEA Party and Donations Drive. This will also be the First Annual TEA Party Donation Drive where local TEA Party groups (including NCC) will accept donations for their 2009 T-shirts and bumper stickers for an end-of-year fund raising push. NCC will be making an entirely different T-shirt available for 2010, so this may be your last chance to get the 2009 edition that celebrated our TEA Party on April 15th.

More to tell you about next week.

Let freedom ring,

Your North County Conservatives
