Boehner: Stop the Obama Administration’s “Gag Order;” Seniors Deserve Truth About the Democrats’ Medicare Cuts

GOP Leader: “It is outrageous that the Obama Administration is tryingto keep seniors in the dark about the consequences of congressionalDemocrats’ costly government-run health care bills”

        WASHINGTON, D.C. – HouseRepublican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) issued the following statementtoday criticizing actions by the Obama Administration to impose a gagorder on critics of the $500 billion in Medicare cuts proposed by thecongressional Democrats:

        “Itis outrageous that the Obama Administration is trying to keep seniorsin the dark about the consequences of congressional Democrats’ costlygovernment-run health care bills.  Would the Administration impose thissort of gag order if seniors were being given information promoting theObama health care plan?  I don’t think so.  Seniors have a right toknow about the cost and consequences of the Democrats’ health carebills, and Republicans will continue to tell the American people thefacts about the nearly $500 billion in Medicare cuts that Democrats areproposing.”
