Every time a Democrat senator has talked during the Senate hearings onSupreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor this week, I felt lousy about mycountry. Not for the usual reasons when a Democrat talks, but becauseDemocrats revel in telling us what a racist country this is.

Interestingly, the Democrats' examples of ethnic prejudice did notinclude Clarence Thomas, whose nomination hearings began with theDemocrats saying, "You may now uncuff the defendant."

Their examples did not include Miguel Estrada, the brilliantHarvard-educated lawyer who was blocked from an appellate courtjudgeship by Senate Democrats expressly on the grounds that he is aHispanic -- as stated in Democratic staff memos that became public.

No, they had to go back to Roger Taney -- confirmed in 1836 -- who wasallegedly attacked for being a Catholic (and who authored the DredScott decision), and Louis Brandeis -- confirmed in 1916 -- allegedly avictim of anti-Semitism.

Indeed, Sen. Patrick Leahy liedabout Estrada's nomination, blaming it on Republicans: "He was notgiven a hearing when the Republicans were in charge. He was given a hearing when the Democrats were in charge."

The current financial crisis has been blamed on a swelling housing bubble and an imploding derivatives market.

Butnoted economic analyst John Pugsley says those are only the symptoms."To say this economic crisis was brought about by easy money and frozencredit are only superficial observations," says Pugsley. "The realcause of our dilemma runs much deeper and will not be resolved by anygovernment bailouts. In fact, punishing taxpayers to pay for thesemistakes will only entrench the cause even deeper."

Pugsley's brand new report exposes the truth underlying today's crisis and how individuals can protect their wealth.
